Cutler throws two TDs to Bennett, Bears hold on to beat Jets
Jay Cutler threw two touchdown passes to Martellus Bennett, and the Chicago Bears took advantage of some early mistakes by the New York Jets before holding on for a 27-19 victory Monday night. J.A. Happ pitched seven innings, Danny Valencia drove in three runs with a triple and Jose Bautista, Kevin Pillar and Anthony Gose homered as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners 14-4 on Monday. Happ (10-11) became the fifth Blue Jays starter to reach double numbers in wins this season as the left-hander allowed eight hits, including a home run by Kyle Seager, and two runs. Full Story.
Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti criticized a report that suggests he and other team officials tried to persuade the NFL to be lenient on Ray Rice after the running back was arrested for knocking out his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City elevator. Bisciotti spoke Monday after ESPN reported last week that the owner, president Dick Cass and general manager Ozzie Newsome pushed Commissioner Roger Goodell for leniency for their star running back.
